Calculate The Number of Bricks in walls (in Feet or Inches)

Basically we can find the number of brick in four steps. Today we are discussing these steps briefly with an example as well. The most important things in this whole process are dimensions and it's units. The dimensions provided in two systems the first one is in inches and the other is meters.now we are going to knowing about the measurements in inches

First calculate the area of brick, secondly calculate the area in one square feet, thirdly divide the these both areas with each other so we get the number of bricks use in one square feet and finally multiply it with total area.

Note5% bricks of overall is consider as wastage

Step #1

In the first step measure the length and the width of  brick with measuring tape and the size of brick is 8 x 4 inches. Multiply the both dimensions for getting the total area of brick

https://daecivilinfo.blogspot.com/2020/05/calculate-number-of-bricks.html

                    8" x 4" =32"

Step # 2

In second step calculate the total inches in 1 square feet.
As we know that there are 12 inches in one feet then take square.

https://daecivilinfo.blogspot.com/2020/05/calculate-number-of-bricks.html

                     12" x 12" = 144"
Now divide the total by the area of the brick

Step # 3

Number of  bricks in Square feet  = Total inches in one square feet
                                                           Total inches of a brick
                                                       =     144
                                                               32
                                                       =     4.5 Nos

Step # 4

After getting the number of bricks in one square feet and multiply it with the total length of  the wall. Then we can get the actual number of bricks use in wall for example the length of wall is 10 ft x 5 ft then,

https://daecivilinfo.blogspot.com/2020/05/calculate-number-of-bricks.html
Total length of wall = 50 x 4.5
                                = 225 Nos
 No. of brick in wall = 50 x 4.5
                                                                         = 225 NOS

Wastage of Bricks(5%)

5 % of the bricks will be 11.25 Nos

Grand Total;

                    225+11.25 = 236.25 NOS.

NOTE

When you calculate the number of bricks of one wall you can also find the others by multiplying them of same length or you can calculate it by combining the all measurements.

Calculation of Bricks in Meters in 1 cubic meter

The method of finding the  numbers of bricks in meter is  same as inches but there are several changing in the values of  size . Before the calculation of bricks in metric system we should have to understand the basic things like the standard size of brick in cm and the size of brick with mortar as well.

First of all the standard size of brick is = 19 cm x 9 cm x 9 cm .

      and size of brick with mortar is = 20 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm .

Solution ;
           volume of a brick = 20 x 10 10 = 2000 cubic cm
           volume of wall     = 100 x 100 x 100 = 1000000 cubic meter
bricks use in 1 cubic meter =   volume of wall
                                                            volume of brick
                                                        =   1000000
                                                                2000
                                                        = 500 NOS of bricks
